Jaime Herrera Wins & Happy Anniversary 19th Amendment

Jaime Herrera, current State Representative, was one of the “top two” candidates in yesterday’s Washington State primary.  In Washington, regardless of party, the top two candidates advance to the general election.  Jaime will face Democrat Denny Heck.

Chuck Todd with MSNBC  ranked the Washington 3rd Congressional District as the number #1 race in the country!  With a strong, female candidate as one of the two candidates advancing to November, now doubt Jaime will be seen and heard across the country in the months leading up to the November election.

“Immediately upon hearing that Jaime was considering a run for this seat, we knew she would be an excellent, strong candidate and yesterday cemented her status as a “must watch” candidate.” stated WUFPAC President, Katie Vlietstra, “We are absolutely thrilled with Jaime’s victory and know she will be elected in November.  Best of all, Jaime is a strong role-model for women all over the country who are state elected officials who are considering a run for higher office–the experience Jaime has as a State Representative helped propel her to victory.  The pipeline is key!”

Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

On this day, WUFPAC would like to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment and honor all women who are currently or have served as an elected official on all levels: local, state, federal.  It is amazing to think that the right to vote to women had to be given through an act of a Constitutional Amendment and not a right provided by birth.  However, we applaud the many women and men, that supported the ratification of the 19th Amendment and remind all Americans that immense power associated with exercising your individual right to vote in each and every election.
