Background:

Nikki Tinker is running for an open seat in the House of Representatives for the 9th District of Tennessee. One of Tinker’s main goals for office is to improve economic development and the aesthetics of some of the more neglected communities in her district through her well-established connections with local businesses in the area.  She believes that children need access to strong role models and exposure to various educational and career opportunities.   She wants to have a hand in helping to shape today’s youth into the great leaders of tomorrow.

Tinker currently serves as the General Counsel and Vice President of Labor Relations for Northwest Airlink/Pinnacle Airlines, representing their interests before federal and state courts, as well as other administrative agencies.  She received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Alabama and her Master’s Degree at Auburn University (Montgomery).

Tinker is running for the open seat that has been held by Rep. Harold Ford Jr. for the past five terms.  Tinker will face a predominantly Democratic field of at least seven others, most of whom are men.   However, she has a strong link to this open seat, having worked as Ford Jr.’s campaign manager for his past two elections.  She kicked off her campaign with a fundraising event in Memphis which was hosted by actor Morgan Freeman. If you would like to contribute to Nikki Tinker’s campaign please visit www.tinkerforcongress.com.
